“Chaar Varan Ik Varan Karaya, Kal taran Guru Nanak Aaya”; It’s the 550th year when a legend called Guru Nanak. He was a true visionary, as the theories which we talk today were already explained by him while on a journey of preaching HUMANITY!!

Kaliyug, as we term the current era, it is registered in scriptures in form of hyms, “Kal taran Guru Nanak Aaya”, that is Guru Nanak has arrived in this era and spread goodness around the world. He was born on full moon day, Kartik Poonam on 20th October 1469 as some scriptures mention, though being son of Kalyan Chand Das Bedi, a Brahmin...

He was always against the following few aspects:
1.       Caste system
2.       Favouring the Rich
3.       Gender Bias
4.       Pride and Ego

He was a poet, philosopher and one of the biggest social-reformer of the current era. His first or opening hym in Japji Sahib and In Guru Granth Sahib also states, “The One (Ik onkar)  Eternal and Absolute Truth (Satnam) The Creator (Kartapurakh) Fearless (Nirbhau) Without hate (Nirvair) – timeless and Self-Existent (Akaal Moorat) Is not part of birth cycles(Ajooni) Self-existant Saibhang), and - all is possible through channel of supreme Grace and Mercy (Prasaad) that this happens (Gurprasaad)”.

Gujarat has been an important zone in his life journey. The three key places: Lakhpat, Bet Dwarka, Bharuch are associated with Guru Nanak Devji. His preachings and contribution towards humanity are being realised in the modern era. Hence, the Gujarat Government under the guidance of honourable Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi, Honourable Chief Minister Sh. Vijay Rupani; Smt Paramjit Kaur Chhabda , Director -Gujarat Minorities Finance and Development Corporation, Gujarat Tourism have decided to celebrate 550th year in a grand way will full gusto and participation and support from SGPC, local Sikh community, Sindhi community, and the Vanjara Community.

World peace = Humanity, we all are one, residents of this planet under the roof of the sky. Ahmedabad currently is celebrating the “Prakash Parv” in the most majestic way. Apart from Gurubaani hyms which will be sung, a Play titled, “Gagan me thaal” (the sky is a plate of offerings to the Lord) will be performed by artists who have come from Amritsar and Mumbai.

Earlier this year in January the government has given a grant of Rs 5 crore for development of Lakhpat Gurudwara . The groundbreaking ceremony was done by Sh Vijay Rupani and Baba Lakha Singhji to renovate the Gurudwara. A large number of Sangat from Ahmedabad too was present at the ceremony. Lakhpat has received ‘Heritage conservation’ award by UNESCO. Here Guru Nanakdevji had stayed for a night when he left for his travels known as ‘Udaasi’.
An additional 5 crore grant has been approved by the government for development of Bet Dwarka, the native land of Bhai Mokam Singhji, one of the Panj pyaras, son of Tirth Chand who was a tailor.
As rightly mentioned in Sikh scriptures about the birth of Guru Nanak, “Miti Dhundh, Jug chanan hoa”. The smog dispelled when the light of a highly placed being entered !!

Guru Nanak promoted the equality of all mankind and gave prominence in uplifting the downtrodden and the poor, laying special emphasis to assert the equality of women.

  1. Waheguruji ka khalsa Waheguruji ki Fateh . It's an honor to see such a grand celebration of Guru Nanak Sahebji 550th Birth celebration. Here in I would request Guru Nanak sahebji Birth is of 15th April and not in the month of October. You can check on Google as well as the old historical books .I would just request to edit the Date of birth which is falsely going around in the community .
